UN Human Rights Commission – Stop Bangladesh Hindu Genocide!

Dear Mr., Türk,
While we hope you are well, we have message for you. Immediately act to protect the human rights of Hindus in Bangladesh or resign. There is no third alternative. This is not the time for diplomatic niceties.

Here’s why we say so: You are the highest UN official supervising the UN Human Rights Office. Global citizens look upon you to protect the human rights of all irrespective of their religion. You have an office in Bangladesh since July 2025.
We ask: What has your office done to condemn and stop the appalling acts of violence and degradation being perpetrated against the Hindus of Bangladesh by lawless Muslim fanatics?

Even the New York Times reported on the lynching of a Hindu in Bangladesh by a mob of Islamists on December 18th, 2025. The gruesome video of how he met his end has evoked terror, heartbreak, and pain not just among Hindus but every conscientious individual worldwide.

Your office has not condemned the incident. This is culpable silence given the functions of UN Human Rights Commission.

The fact is, the Hindus of Bangladesh have suffered since 1947, when it was East Pakistan and when it became Bangladesh in 1971. Hindus were subjected to a genocide in 1971; their women were raped, and Hindu men’s sexual organs were checked for circumcision and shot if they were not.
Between 1964 and 2013, over 11 million Hindus fled Bangladesh due to religious persecution. The Hindu population during the formation of Bangladesh was approximately 13.5%; over the last seven decades, that number has drastically reduced to 7% or less. 230,000 Hindus continue to leave the country every year. This sharp decline is indicative of the continuous exodus and genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh. Things have only worsened under the Younus regime. Temples, houses and businesses of Hindus have been attacked, and they live in constant fear, unprotected by the government and at the mercy of Islamic fanatics.

Our hearts are heavy with the pain Hindus are suffering in Bangladesh. We refuse to accept any more passivity, equivocation and silence on your part and demand the following immediately:

1. Publicly nominate a senior human rights official supported by adequate staff to be exclusively accountable for protecting the human rights of Hindus in Bangladesh.
2. Allow an independent investigation into the violation of Bangladesh’s Hindus by an international team nominated by Hindu and other organizations.
3. UN Human Rights must explicitly condemn the barbaric murder and genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh.
4. Ensure that the wrongly imprisoned Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das of ISKCON is released immediately. A man of God is a political prisoner. We condemn his continued incarceration as illegal and blatantly arbitrary.
5. Declare that Hindus in Bangladesh face an existential threat from Islamic fundamentalists.
6. Identify the Islamic fundamentalists by name and by their organizational affiliation.
7. Communicate to the UN Security Council to bar Bangladesh from participating in the UN Peacekeeping forces, given its persistent violation of Hindus’ human rights.

Be assured, we will neither forget nor relent. We expect a public answer to this letter.
